Why reviews matter so much
Reviews are one of the things Google uses to decide which local businesses to show, and they are usually the first thing a new customer reads. A business with 40 recent reviews looks safer than one with 4, even if both are rated 4.8.
Get your review link
Open your Google Business Profile (search your business name on Google while signed in, or use the Google Maps app), and find "Ask for reviews" or "Get more reviews". It gives you a short link that opens the review box directly. Save it in your WhatsApp quick replies.
When and how to ask
- Ask at the happy moment: when the customer thanks you, when the job is finished, or when the order is delivered.
- Ask in person first, then send the link on WhatsApp the same day, while they remember you.
- Make it personal. Use their name and mention what you did for them.
- Ask everyone, not only the customers you think will give five stars. Selective asking is against Google's policy.
- Put the QR code for your review link on your counter, bill or packaging.
A message you can copy
Hi Priya, thank you for choosing us for your kitchen repair today! If you were happy with the work, a short Google review would really help our small business. It takes less than a minute: [your review link]. Thank you!
What you must not do
- Do not offer discounts, gifts or money in exchange for reviews.
- Do not write reviews for yourself, or ask staff and family to.
- Do not buy reviews from any service.
- Do not ask only happy customers while discouraging others.
Google removes fake reviews and can restrict or suspend profiles that break these rules.
Show your best reviews on your website too
Copy your best reviews (with the customer's permission) into the testimonials section of your website. On Indiexis, every page has a reviews section you can fill from your dashboard. And when a review is negative, read our guide on handling bad reviews.
