Introduction
Hamant Kumar Bahukhandi is a politician and social worker active in the Yamkeshwar constituency of Uttarakhand. A leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party, he has served as a member of the BJP Uttarakhand Pradesh Karya Samiti.
Before politics came a lifetime in the police, honoured with the President's Police Medal for Meritorious Service. After retirement he returned home and in 2015 founded the Bharosa Foundation to bridge the disparities in society — in education, healthcare, livelihood, sports and community capacity.
Through Operation Bharosa the foundation has reached 16 remote villages of the Garhwal hills. His values are simple: सेवा • सम्मान • संगठन — service, dignity and organisation, in that order.
